Plot Summary

After the outbreak of World War I, German ally Türkiye took the opportunity to invade the Arabian Peninsula. The British military dispatched Army Intelligence Officer Lawrence (played by Peter O'Toole) to various Arab tribes in an attempt to uncover the ultimate political intentions of tribal leader Prince Faisal (played by Alec Guiness). Lawrence met the leader of the Harisu tribe, Ali (played by Omar Sharif), on the way, and was ordered by Prince Faisal to lead a surprise attack on the city of Aqaba with Ali through the Nafd Desert. Along the way, he also gained the trust of the leader of the Havitat tribe, Oda (played by Anthony Quinn). After the victory, Lawrence put on Aralunese clothes, and led the guerrillas with Ali to carry out terrorist activities against Türkiye to blow up the railway, which shocked the Middle East; But I didn't expect my fate to turn around... This film won the 35th Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Director (David Lean), Best Art Direction, Best Photography, Best Original Music, Best Editing and Best Sound Effect in 1962, and was nominated for Best Actor (Peter Otto), Best Supporting Actor (Omar Sheriff) and Best Adapted Screenplay.
