Plot Summary

Medellin (Tom Cruise)'s father is a veteran pilot with outstanding military achievements, and he is determined to become a hero like his father. Finally, his opportunity came, and he was sent to the anti-aircraft gun training base with officer Gus (played by Anthony Edwards) to undergo the strictest flight training. However, Medellin's training did not go as smoothly as expected. He always panicked in the air and his grades were unsatisfactory. His classmate Schneider also had some complaints about him. Medellin falls in love with the beautiful female instructor Charlie (played by Kelly McGillis), and Charlie gradually falls in love with the personality of Medellin, which makes Medellin, who was originally somewhat discouraged, regain his strength. During a pre graduation training session, the instructor flew the same plane with his partner Gus. Due to a motor malfunction, Medellin and Gus were forced to jump into the sea, resulting in Gus's unfortunate death. This incident has dealt a heavy blow to Metro AG. Medellin, who was depressed because of his poor studies, is even more depressed. He even wants to give up his dream of becoming a pilot. Can Medellin ultimately overcome his mental barrier and return to the blue sky?
