Description
Plot Summary
Xu Ji Roasted Duck is a well-known local delicacy on the streets of Hong Kong. Although the shop is shabby and the decoration is outdated, it still attracts many diners with the excellent duck cooking skills of its owner, Old Xu (played by Xu Guanwen). Business is booming, but Lao Xu treats his employees very harshly, with endless overtime and meager salaries. The employees complain and are deceived by Lao Xu's clever words and gestures. But one day, the disaster of Xu Ji burning ducks came. The shop across the street opened a Western style fried chicken restaurant, and the owner Danny (played by Wu Qihua) promoted his Western style fast food with advanced concepts, quickly snatching away Old Xu's customers. In the face of crisis, Old Xu came up with various ways to deal with it, while Danny also intended to put the Roast Duck Shop to death... This film won the Best Actor award at the 1989 Las Vegas International Comedy Awards.
