Plot Summary

Mr. Stephens (played by Anthony Hopkins) is a loyal servant who once served as the butler of a famous British duke. At present, I am wholeheartedly taking care of the mansion of my new owner, Lord Darlington, and becoming the chief steward here. Here comes a housekeeper named Keaton (played by Emma Thompson), who is sharp and capable, and is more flexible in managing household chores than Stephen. At first, Stephen often had minor conflicts with her. But as they spent more time together, the kind Keaton still secretly moved Stevens. Despite Keaton's repeated expressions of true feelings, his every move and gesture revealed his love. But at every emotional moment, Stevens suppressed his emotions and turned his love for Keaton into a story buried in silence. Keaton bid farewell to this fruitless love and went far away to marry a woman. When time flies and the two meet again, the love in their hearts still cannot be expressed, and the deep longing turns into a farewell blessing at the station.
