Plot Summary

During his childhood, William Wallace's father, Scottish national hero Maso Wallace, sacrificed himself in the struggle against the British army. He began to receive guidance from his father's friends and learn Scottish culture and martial arts. Young Wallace (Mel Gibson) returned to his hometown after completing his studies and proposed to the beautiful girl Meilun, not wanting Meilun to be taken away and killed by the British army. Amidst the call of the villagers for 'heroes', Wallace led his troops to rise up in rebellion and formed an alliance with Scottish nobleman Rob. However, he soon discovered that Scottish nobles were only considering their own interests. In order to ease the situation, the British king sent Isabella (Sophie Marceau) to negotiate with Wallace. However, due to the fact that the British king only wanted to bribe Wallace and disregarded the freedom and equality of the Scottish people, the negotiations failed, but Isabella was not aware of all of this. After Isabella returned home, she discovered the truth of the matter and learned that the English king was planning a secret plan. She hurriedly sent a letter to Wallace, and their love quietly grew in war and conspiracy.
