Description

Plot Summary

The protagonist Larry (played by Woody Harrelson) was originally a poor boy from Kentucky. As he grew up, he opened a sex bar in Cincinnati, but the business was not good. At the end of his rope, his wife came up with an idea for him to start her own pornographic magazine to promote her bar, and thus "Luster" was born. Unlike erotic magazines such as Playboy and Penthouse, which are exclusively for white-collar consumption, Erotic is a pornographic magazine aimed at the general public, and its content scale greatly exceeds that of existing erotic magazines such as Playboy. This trick really worked, Larry's bar business became booming, and the sales of the magazine also skyrocketed. This has sparked fierce opposition from moral conservatives. A person named Keating is desperately suing Larry, and an unnamed gunman's attack has left Larry paralyzed in the lower body. Larry's lawyer Allen (played by Edward Norton) completely set aside the harmful effects of Larry's behavior on society in court and focused entirely on the freedom of speech guaranteed by the US Constitution, making this case a pivotal page in American judicial history.
