Description
Plot Summary
Alozzo (Denzel Washington) is a black detective at the US Drug Enforcement Administration, with extensive experience and excellent investigative skills. He has a keen sense of drug cases. Known as the 'Magic Eye'. On that day, a new colleague named Jack (played by Ethan Hawke) arrived at Alozzo's department. Jack followed Alozzo deep into every dark corner of the streets and discovered the city's peculiarities. At the same time, he gradually witnessed Alozzo's both righteous and evil investigative methods. Although Alozzo is a detective, his methods are on the edge of the law. He adhered to the principle of "using poison to fight poison" and armed himself first: confiscated the criminals' drugs and took them himself, pointing a gun at Jack and ordering him to follow suit. He even had some unusual relationship with drug traffickers. On the other hand, he worked hard to protect Jack, a young man, and his complex personality made Jack unpredictable about this detective boss.
