Plot Summary

The movie tells the story of how a journey through South America inspired Che Guevara's new worldview and sparked revolutionary enthusiasm in his heart. Guevara (Gael Garc í a Bernal) was 23 years old at the time, full of vigor and hesitation, and was a medical student. He had a strong curiosity about the outside world, so he embarked on a long journey in Latin America with his friend Albert. They got on the motorcycle and set off at lightning speed, but unexpectedly the motorcycle was quickly scrapped. But this did not affect the passion of the young people at all, and the two relied on hitchhiking to complete the remaining journey. Passing through the ancient civilization sites of Latin America and shuttling among various populations in different countries, they began to truly feel the truth of society and the hardships of life. When they delved into the leprosy affected areas of the Amazon River basin, they were deeply shocked by what they saw and heard.
