Plot Summary

This film is adapted from the 1956 film of the same name by German expressionist film master Fritz Lang. Television journalist Seagate Nicholas (played by Jesse Metcalfe) and his friend Cory Finlay (played by Joel Moore) work together on the "investigative reporting" program of the television station. During the reporting process of a murder case, Shijie met the assistant prosecutor of the district prosecutor's office, Ella (played by Amber Tamblyn), and suspected her superior based on the interrogation video provided by her. District prosecutor Martin Hunt (played by Michael Douglas) won the prosecution by forging DNA evidence, paving the way for his campaign for governor. With no way to investigate, Shijie decided to execute a seamless plan with Cowley, intentionally purchasing various physical evidence to correct himself as the biggest suspect in a prostitute murder case. During the trial, Cowley was supposed to present the video footage taken by the two individuals to confirm that Shijie was not the murderer, but died in a car accident on the way to the court. Shijie, who was sentenced to death, had no choice but to turn to Ella for help, but could she prove Shijie's innocence?
