Description

Plot Summary

Heather Thompson (Kirsten Crook) is a housewife who lives in the suburbs with her cold hearted husband and has no feelings for each other. Unable to bear it any longer, Heather finally decided to run away from home. At a nightclub, she met Lloyd Buster (Adam Sinclair), who had been living a party life for many years and was a drug addict. Heather found what she was desperately looking for on Lloyd, and the two fell in love. However, Heather found it difficult to distinguish whether this feeling was drug or love. The film also has another main storyline, in which Lloyd is pursued by a mysterious figure named Solo (Carol Lotta) due to debt, who assigns him the task of drug trafficking. The operation went very poorly, almost causing him to lose Heather. Lloyd finally regretted and decided to turn over a new leaf. However, did all of this come too late? The behind the scenes production of "Ecstasy" is adapted from the short story "The Undefeated" by Irvine Welsh, who was also the original author and screenwriter of the classic drug film "Guess the Train" in the 1990s. The film "Ecstasy" is directed by Canadian actor Rob Heydon, who has directed over 100 commercials, music videos, and the documentary "Going Further," but this is his debut feature film. The film 'Invincible' comes from the short film collection 'Ecstasy' published by Welsh in 1996. Its full name is' Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance ', where' Chemical Romance 'clearly refers to drugs. The Invincible Body "is one of the longest stories, telling the story of a drug addict and a housewife who meet in a nightclub. Shortly after its publication, this book was adapted into a stage play by Canadian playwright Keith Wyatt and achieved great success in performances in Canada and Edinburgh. Elvin Welsh himself also watched the stage play version and stated that it was the "best adaptation" of his work. As early as 2000, Canadian director Rob Haydn bought the film adaptation rights for the short story and planned to bring it to the screen. However, in order to raise funds and get the script approved by Welsh himself, he finally spent 10 years until 2011 to make the film.
