Description
Plot Summary
22-year-old drug dealer Chris (Emile Hirsch) is in a pile of debt, and a high interest loan shark is threatening to chase him down. To save his life, he came up with the only solution, which was to murder his own mother Adele to earn a high amount of insurance, and he joined forces with his father, stepmother, and sister Dotty (Juno Temple) to share this windfall. However, Chris was unwilling to do it himself, so he targeted the professional assassin Joe (played by Matthew McConaughey). However, Joe only did business and did not do charity, and would not do it if he didn't raise enough money. When helpless, Chris had to temporarily pay his sister as a "deposit" to Joe. I thought everything would be done and just wait for Chris to collect a large sum of money, but I didn't expect that things would go in a dramatic direction... This film has won the Saturn Award for Best Independent Film, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Screenplay.
