Plot Summary

In the ancient temple deep in the mountains, scholar Zhu Xiaolian (played by Deng Chao), who was rushing to the capital for an exam, was taken to a fairyland in the painting by a fairy peony (played by Zheng Shuang) who fell from a mural. In the strange fairyland, many fairies live a free and happy life under the management of their aunt (played by Yan Ni), but they are not allowed to develop feelings for men, and they will not be soft on men who enter the fairyland without permission. In the fairyland, Zhu Xiaolian met the fairy Shao Yao (played by Sun Li). With the help of Shaoyao, Zhu Xiaolian escaped the danger of being discovered by his aunt and returned to the human world smoothly. However, due to concerns about the safety of the peony, at the request of Zhu Xiaolian, the master (played by Eric Tsang) in the ancient temple helped Zhu Xiaolian return to the fairyland. However, despite the peaceful singing and dancing in the fairyland, Zhu Xiaolian could never find the figure of the fairy peony...
