Description
Plot Summary
The story begins with an elderly man in his 90s reminiscing about his life during the Great Depression. At the age of 23, Jacob Yi (played by Robert Pattinson) was forced to drop out of a prestigious school due to the loss of both parents and inability to pay tuition fees. By chance, he took on the job of doing odd jobs and taking care of animals in a second rate circus. The magic weapon of the circus is an elephant named Rosie, which is a very spiritual animal. Unfortunately, the cruel circus director August (played by Christoph Waltz) never knew how to cherish animals. On the contrary, his wife Marina (played by Reese Witherspoon) loves circus animals with maternal devotion. Therefore, Jacob gradually fell in love with a beautiful woman in the days to come. When they decided to elope, August discovered that it was Rosie's amazing act that fulfilled their love. Rosie's actions also became a secret that Jacob had kept for seventy years. What exactly is this secret?
