Description

Plot Summary

French university literature teacher Gilman (played by Fabrice Luchini) assigned students a weekly journal and asked them to truthfully record their observations over the weekend. Amidst numerous tedious assignments, Gilman unexpectedly discovers that the article by 16-year-old Claude (played by Ernst Umhauer) is exceptionally brilliant. Claude is a quiet observer, accustomed to sitting in the last row of the classroom. His homework is about voyeurism - telling the story of how he sneaked into a friend's house and peeked into their family life. Gilman was deeply attracted by the lines between the lines, and his long extinguished literary passion was also ignited. He not only decided to tutor the talented Claude alone and encourage him to create freely, but also shared Claude's essays with his wife Jenna (played by Kristin Scott Thomas). However, adults gradually forget the boundary between fiction and reality during the reading process, and are even more unaware that their living room has already had its door wide open French genius director Fran ç ois Ocon once stunned the world of film with his dark and heart wrenching works such as "The Eight Beauties" and "The Pool Murder". After heartwarming literary films such as "5 × 2" and "Time Stay", the new film "Entering the House" once again returns to the suspense and thriller themes that Ou Rong is best at. The movie is adapted from the Spanish stage play "The Boy in the Last Row", and the director cleverly combines voyeuristic literature with the mysterious reality section, challenging the forbidden zone of sexual morality with a story that is both realistic and surreal, full of layers. This film has been nominated for six major awards at the French Caesar Awards and won the Toronto International Film Festival
