Plot Summary

In 1965, on a small island called New Pengzans, there was a troop of scouts stationed at the Ivanhoe Camp. Scout instructor Howard (played by Edward Norton) discovers one morning that student Sam (played by Jared Gilman) has left a message and is running away. As a result, Howard and a group of Scouts begin searching for Sam, and island police officer Sharp (played by Bruce Willis) also begins a search around the island. Originally, Sam's escape was a long planned one. He ran away with the "problem" girl Susie (played by Kara Hayward), who is the daughter of a lawyer couple on the island and is considered a problem child by his parents. During the search, Susie's father (played by Bill Murray) seems to have noticed that his wife is having an affair with a police officer. This search team, consisting of a scout squad, scout instructors, police officers, and lawyer parents, finally found the two who had escaped. Due to Sam being an orphan, he must be sent to a juvenile shelter after this incident. That night, the scout team decided to help Sam and Susie escape again.
