Description
Plot Summary
Oscar Grant (played by Michael B. Jordan) lives with his girlfriend Sophina (played by Melonie Diaz) and their 4-year-old daughter in Oakland. December 31, 2008 is Oscar's mother's birthday. In the morning, he sent his daughter to kindergarten and his girlfriend to work as usual. Oscar has sold marijuana, been in prison, and was fired for being late frequently, but he is ready to work hard to start a new life as the new year approaches. In the evening, everyone gathered together to celebrate his mother's birthday and the arrival of the new year. After finishing the gathering with his family, Oscar took Sophie and a group of friends on the subway to San Francisco to watch fireworks. On January 1, 2009, the first morning of the New Year, after a night of revelry, they boarded the subway home. However, Oscar met his "old friend" who had been in prison together before on the subway, and his appearance changed everyone This film is adapted from a true story.
