Plot Summary

In the near future of the United States, with a national unemployment rate of only 1, the crime rate has set a record low, and violence has almost disappeared without a trace. The United States of America seems to have entered a beautiful golden age that is like heaven, and what has contributed to this perfect appearance is the unprecedented Great Purge Plan. In order to effectively release the suppressed and dissatisfied emotions in the hearts of citizens, the country has specially stipulated that a nationwide sweeping operation lasting twelve hours will be held after 7 pm on one day every year. At that time, people will take to the streets and engage in fighting and killing without any legal responsibility. In this deformed era, security system salesman James Sandin (voiced by Ethan Hawke) made a fortune and lived a luxurious and happy life with his wife and children.
