Plot Summary

The story begins on the fictional island of Dongji in the easternmost part of China. The intellectually challenged young man Hu Sheng (played by Gao Huayang) tells the story of his two brothers, Ma Haohan (played by Feng Shaofeng) and Jianghe (played by Chen Bailin). After wandering outside for many years, Haohan returned to his hometown only to find that the entire island was facing demolition issues, and his best friend, the only teacher on the island, Jianghe, would also be transferred to a more remote area. The three brothers embarked on an unprecedented journey, where they met their childhood playmate Zhou Mo (played by Chen Qiao'en) who was a temporary actor, the misguided Su Mi (played by Wang Luodan), the pen pal Liu Yingying (played by Yuan Quan) whom Haohan admired for many years, and the rebellious motorcycle rider Alu (played by Zhong Hanliang). A seemingly ordinary journey, but with hidden foreshadowing, Haohan and Jianghe finally reached the end and began a completely different life trajectory. This film is the directorial debut of the famous writer and racing driver Han Han.
