Description

Plot Summary

Riko, Daniel, Paul, and Mark grew up in the extreme chaos of the newly reunified Leipzig suburb in East Germany. In that chaos, the rules of the past have long been extinguished. They turned night into day and streets into amusement parks. They ran around wildly, wandering around the neighborhood, stealing cars, tasting drugs, and establishing new clubs for debauchery. They opened their own disco and were quickly occupied by neo Nazi teenagers. Everything changes and declines, and everyone creates dreams that are too many to carry: Rico wants to become a boxer, Daniel yearns to have a grand love affair with the "little star" - the most beautiful girl in Leipzig's history... Screenwriter Wolfe Kohlheis and director Andreas Drison condensed Leipzig writer Clement Meyer's award-winning debut in 2006 into a film allegory about friendship and betrayal, hope and disillusionment, cruelty and softness. They told a story of a lost youth, a story of rebellion, and a utopian dream of constantly pursuing happiness.
