Plot Summary

Ame (played by Wen Mingna), who returned to the United States from visiting relatives in mainland China, happened to be at a party. The members at the party are all friends of the mother's lifetime and her daughter. Ame accompanied the aunties to play mahjong, and before that, it was her mother's place. The four people at the card table have different personalities, each with their own stories of heartache and struggle behind them. Aunt Lin Duo (played by Zhou Caiqin)'s shrewdness and resilience helped her break free from her role as a child bride and strive to reach her current position; Aunt Yingying (played by Yu Feihong) has a painful past, so she hopes her daughter will bravely be herself; Aunt An Mei (played by Lu Yan) is influenced by her mother and knows how to speak out in the face of unfair fate; Meanwhile, Ame's mother (played by Wu Junmei) was forced to flee due to the war and accidentally lost her flesh and blood. All four women have come through hardships and gone through life's trials, not wanting their daughters to repeat their own tragedies. But the daughters of the four unconsciously took a path extremely similar to their own mother's. They don't understand their mother's hard work and feel confused and painful. But as they matured, they finally understood their mother's good intentions. A story of Chinese women is narrated.
