Description
Plot Summary
During his 5-year imprisonment, Johnny Carey (played by Sterling Hayden) came up with a brilliant robbery plan. After his release from prison, he gathered a group of illegal individuals to jointly plan a $20 million robbery of the racetrack, achieving "no casualties". However, wise people always make mistakes after careful consideration. Johnny's seamless plan was successfully implemented, but was disrupted by his accomplice George's wife Sherry (played by Marie Windsor). After learning of her husband's plan, she teamed up with her lover, Vince Edwards, to extend a greedy hand towards a huge sum of money... This film is adapted from Lionel White's novel "Clean Break", with Kubrick as the screenwriter and renowned novelist Jim Thompson to revise the dialogue.
