Plot Summary

The beautiful Belladonna was stripped of her chastity by the lord on her wedding day, and her husband had no comfort after her haggard return. Belladonna's sorrowful body summoned a demon to give her comfort. Shortly after, the war broke out and the strong men in the town went on a campaign with the lord. After her husband fell into despair, Belladonna relied on her mysterious abilities to maintain the supply of the castle, which aroused jealousy from the lord's wife and ultimately led to her imprisonment. The increasingly large black demon arrived and took Belladonna away, devouring the vast land with a plague. Belladonna used her special abilities to save the people, but the lord once again harmed her... This film is produced by Osamu Tezuka's "Bug Studio" and is the most modern style adult animated film series released by the studio around 70 years ago. It was once an official competition work at the Berlin Film Festival in 1973. Yoshihiko Sato, who served as the soundtrack for this film, was one of the core figures of the Japanese free jazz movement in the 1970s.
