Plot Summary

Yanagita Masao (played by Hiroshi Sekuchi) and Yoko (played by Momoe Yamaguchi), who live in Kokura, Kitakyushu, are a pair of unfortunate siblings who rely on each other since their parents passed away early on. One day, Masao was arrested on charges of robbery and murder. With conclusive evidence, the honest and reserved elementary school teacher Masao was at a loss for words. Tongzi, who firmly believed in her brother's innocence, traveled to Tokyo and visited the renowned elite lawyer, Kinzo Otsuka (played by Kentaro Mikakuni), to defend her brother's innocence. Otsuka, who only recognized money in his eyes, coldly rejected Tongzi, who was at a dead end. This scene happened to be witnessed by the journalist Abe Keiichi (played by Tomohiro Miura) from Social Weekly. Abe tried his best to clear the way for Tongzi and investigate the truth of the case, but ultimately could not change the fate of Zhengfu being executed, and Tongzi's life fell into a valley. On the other hand, the lofty Otsuka Haruhito is proud and indulges in a luxurious and noble life, unaware that his fate is also influenced by the lower class people...
