Plot Summary

In 1929, Vietnam was a French colony, and Jane (played by Jean March) was a 15-year-old French girl studying at Saigon Girls' Boarding School. During holidays, it's easy to go home. My mother runs a very small school with very little income. Jane has two older brothers. The eldest brother, Bill, is addicted to drugs and domineering, while the second brother, Paul, is naturally weak and often bullied by his elder brother. One day, as usual, Jian bid farewell to her mother and boarded the ferry back to school.
