Description
Plot Summary
In the year 2500 AD, a large number of glaciers at the poles of the Earth melted, and the Earth became a vast ocean. People can only survive on water, and floating islands have been built, making soil a rare commodity. One day, a lonely sailor (Kevin Costner) arrived and exchanged a jar of soil for fresh water and tomato seedlings. Just as he was about to leave, the locals discovered that he had gills and fins and thought he was a monster. They locked him up and prepared to execute him in two days. In time, pirates attacked the floating island, and Helen (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and her adopted daughter Elona (Tina Majorino) failed to catch the escape lifeboat. They rescued the sailors.
