Description
Plot Summary
Chinese agent Liu Jian (Jet Li) was ordered to go to Paris to assist the police in cracking down on local drug smuggling groups. Due to the extreme sensitivity of the task, the superiors did not inform Liu Jian of the specific details of the task. After arriving in Paris, he went to see Richard (played by Tch é ky Karyo), a senior detective at the cooperating police station. The first time Liu Jian met Richard face-to-face, he witnessed him beating a suspect to death. He is actually a member of a drug trafficking group, plotting to kill and falsely accuse Liu Jian. Liu Jian, who is agile and clever, single handedly repelled the pursuit of dozens of Richard's thugs, successfully escaped, and met American Jessica (played by Bridget Fonda). Jessica's daughter was kidnapped by Richard, and she herself was coerced by Richard due to drug use and became a prostitute. Due to Richard's false accusation, Liu Jian was charged with murder. He and Jessica were forced by the situation to join forces to deal with a cunning opponent .....
