Plot Summary

Captain Frank (played by Dennis Quaid) has been dealing with airplanes for many years, and this time he will be responsible for a "Phoenix" cargo plane to transport a group of oil workers and supplies to Beijing. However, to his surprise, the plane encountered a storm on the way and Frank had to make an emergency landing on the desolate Gobi Desert in Inner Mongolia. Fortunately, there were not many casualties, but their reserve water was only enough to sustain a month's use. However, the possibility of waiting for rescue within a month is like buying lottery tickets. Amidst hunger and panic, various opinions and arguments began among the survivors. The last passenger who claimed to be an airplane designer proposed to rebuild a plane from the wreckage for self rescue. However, building airplanes is not as simple as imagined. People's hearts are gradually depleting through continuous attempts, and the remaining water of life is becoming less and less. Can the severely injured "Phoenix" still be reborn in the vast desert? This film is a remake of the 1965 film of the same name, both adapted from the novel of the same name by British author Elleston Trevor.
