Plot Summary

Hundreds of years ago, in Europe, there were some groups of people with mysterious powers who were regarded as demons and hanged, forcing them to flee to the American continent. In the 17th century, five magical families united and established the Ipswich colony. They made contracts with each other for self-protection and concealed themselves in the crowd as ordinary people. The four descendants of the five major families - Caleb (played by Steven Strait), Reed, Taylor, and Berg - are of similar age and get along well with each other. Their small group is the focus of the school, and transfer student Sarah (played by Laura Ramsey) prefers the low-key and gentle Caleb. She tries to get close to Caleb but is troubled by terrifying illusions. At the same time, at the age of eighteen, Kaleb is about to receive an upgrade in strength. His companion Reed, out of jealousy, becomes hostile towards Kaleb, causing a rift in the small group. The unexpected busyness of other students in the school and the attempt of a stranger Collins to approach the small group make Kaleb and others feel trapped in a conspiracy
