Plot Summary

In 1946, the Far East International Military Tribunal tried Japanese war criminals in Tokyo. At that time, the court was composed of 11 judges from 11 countries, appointed by the Chinese Nationalist Government. Chinese judges led by Mei Ruqing (played by Liu Songren) flew to Tokyo on March 20th. Xiao Nan (played by Zhu Xiaotian), a journalist from Ta Kung Pao, is responsible for tracking and reporting the entire process of the Far East International Military Tribunal. He meets his pre war lover, Yoshiko Wada (played by Lin Xilei). At the banquet, Xiao Nan witnessed Mei Ruqing's excitement and joy, but had a premonition of how difficult this trip must be. The trial has finally begun, and the Chinese delegation has encountered various difficulties and setbacks. Surprisingly, the majority of the court does not support the death penalty.
