Description

Plot Summary

The film faithfully records the real lives of local prostitutes in Thailand's "goldfish tanks," Bangladesh's slum brothels, and Mexico's red light districts. There is no performance or artificiality, the camera depicts their painful and helpless lives, the dignity of being discriminated against and deprived, and the struggle and struggle of mutual understanding. The film does not evaluate the practices and behaviors of these prostitutes from a moral perspective, but only provides viewers with a close-up understanding of the prostitution industry and their living conditions from an observer's perspective. These deeply touching plots and truths will explore the culture of prostitution and its value from the perspectives of gender, marriage, and religious beliefs. The documentary "The Glory of Prostitutes" directed by Austrian director Michel Gravog is the last part of the "Globalization Documentary Trilogy", the other two being "Metropolis" in 1998 and "Death of the Laborer" in 2005. This film was nominated for the Horizon section of the 2011 Venice Film Festival and won the Jury Prize
