Plot Summary

There is a village in southwestern China, isolated from the world and surrounded by mountains. It is a place where everyone lives a long life and has its own rules. During the Qing Dynasty, the emperor named it "Changshou Town". One day, a sudden outbreak of infectious disease occurred, and local officials sent doctors (played by Simon Yam) to diagnose and treat it. He found a dying cow (played by Huang Bo) outside the town. After entering the village, the once gentle villagers went against the norm, not only refusing to lend a helping hand to Niujili and avoiding the plague, but also blaming the doctors for meddling in their affairs. The old town mayor (played by Ma Jingwu) personally led Changshou Town doctors (played by Su Youpeng), midwives (played by Liang Jing), painters, and the old clan leader to obstruct the doctors' rescue of Niujili in countless ways.
