Description
Plot Summary
The film tells the legendary story of a famous general named Qi Jiguang who led a southern expedition against Japanese pirates and returned peace along the coast. During the Jiajing period of the mid Ming Dynasty, local officials were corrupt and the morale of the Ming army was unstable. Japanese pirates took advantage of the situation and repeatedly invaded the southeast coast. At a time of internal and external troubles, Qi Jiguang (played by Zhao Wenzhuo) took on the task of recruiting 3000 Yiwu villagers with Yu Dayou (played by Sammo Hung). Within a few days, they trained new soldiers with strict military discipline and extraordinary methods, and armed themselves with advanced weapons and sophisticated formations, becoming the first "special forces" in history and the famous "Qi Family Army" both at home and abroad.
