Description
Plot Summary
The film is based on the famous Beijing opera segment "Stopping the Horse" and tells the story of Yang Ye (played by Wu Yue) who died in battle in Youzhou. The nine ring golden Fengding Song Baodao, which was given to the Yang family by the emperor, falls into the Liao state. Yang Bajie (played by Zhang Xintong) and Yang Jiumei (played by Liu Xinlei) go to the Liao state in grief and anger to retrieve the Baodao. On their way back, they meet the stranded Song general Jiao Guangpu (played by Song Tianshuo), whom they do not know each other. They then work together to escort the Baodao back to their homeland.
