Plot Summary

In Harbin under the rule of Manchukuo in 1944, the underground party member Song Zhuowen (played by Qin Hao) disguised as a railway patrol officer was mistaken by the head of the special intelligence department, Guan Xue (played by Yang Mi), as his lifesaver - actually his long lost twin brother Song Zhuowu (played by Qin Hao). Zhuowen, in order to investigate the highest mission of Kwantung Army Chief Asano Daigo to Harbin, used Guan Xue to enter the secret service department. However, Song Zhuowu suddenly appeared, putting Zhuowen in an unexpected predicament. Guan Xue is cold-blooded and suspicious, ruthless and vicious. Zhuo Wu is impulsive by nature and often unintentionally sabotages Zhuo Wen's actions. With the arrangement of his superiors, the two brothers cooperated and covered for each other. After several trials and avoiding the internal struggles of colleagues in the secret agency, they finally gained the trust of Guan Xue and Japanese high-ranking officials. In this short year, the underground party members went through countless hardships to investigate and prevent the secret operation of the Japanese and Soviet conspiracies, and uncovered the puppet Manchurian spies lurking within our party, ushering in the final victory of the war.
