Description
Plot Summary
The film tells the story of Belle, a mixed race girl who was adopted by a noble family and influenced the abolition of slavery. The female protagonist Belle is the illegitimate daughter of British Navy Colonel John Lindson and a Caribbean slave. She was later adopted by her father's uncle, Lord Murray. Although she grew up in an aristocratic family environment, her dark skin color constantly reminds her of her background. And she used her own strength to promote the process of abolishing slavery in Britain together with Lord Murray... [Footnote] The media gave it a comprehensive score of 63, and Rotten Tomatoes received a freshness rating of 79. Adapted from a true historical story, famous British actors such as Sam Kraflin, Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson, Miranda Richardson, and Tom Felton joined and received high praise. Represented by the perfect score of "National Film," this is a nearly perfect romantic work with a cast of handsome men and beautiful women, moving performances, and exquisite costume design. It is like a movie version of "Downton Abbey," but wearing a corset, women's pants skirt, and triangular hat, telling the story of a beautiful woman walking in a hypocritical and absurd rule. The real selling point of the film is still the lead actress, who perfectly interprets everything that a star should have. Although the plot of the film unfolds slowly, it comes at the cost of a perfect portrayal of the privileges of the rich and the intrigues between the nobles. The director's unusually serious narrative tone does not diminish the brilliance that the film should have. The entire film looks like a Rembrandt oil painting rather than an episode of Downton Abbey. The accusation of the system is fused with romantic love elements, and through a large number of courtroom plots, the operation of slavery in England is explored. Although the film may sometimes feel shaky, it does not conceal the overall beauty of the film, "Elegant and low-key, a true story that affected the British slavery in the 18th century, the romantic style of the film is like the words written by Jane Austen and Bronte sisters".
