Plot Summary

The latest work by Neil Blomkamp, director of "District 9," explores the path of near reality science fiction films. "Wolverine" Hugh Jackman leads "science fiction goddess" Sigourney Weaver, "South African tough guy" Sharto Copley, and "millionaire" Dave Patel. It just went viral on May 24th in China, and to witness the turning point of human evolution in the near future, Michelle Bradley's (Sigourney Weaver) large arms company has created the world's first batch of robot police and dispatched them to carry out missions. Programmer Dean (played by Dev Patel) is one of the creators of robot police. But in his spare time, he also has his own persistent pursuit of a dream: the next step in human evolution, a machine that can think and feel. Dean sought support from Michelle Bradley but was unsuccessful. Instead, he used the company's equipment to start manufacturing and experimenting on his own, and successfully brought the robot "Chappie" with artificial intelligence into this world.
