Plot Summary

The drama is adapted from the Nordic TV series "Bron/Broen" and tells the story of Sonya North (Diane Kruger), a homicide detective at the El Paso Police Department in the United States, and Mexican detective Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir) who work together to pursue a cross-border serial killer. Sonya North is a tenacious and straightforward female police officer who lacks smoothness in her interactions, warmth towards others, and the empathy that women should have. She always relies on her intuition and likes and dislikes to handle things, sometimes angering her colleagues, but there are also situations full of joy. Ruiz is a typical good man. Even when his colleagues are dragged down by drug trafficking groups one after another, Ruiz can still "get out of the mud without getting infected". Annabeth Gish and Ted Levine also joined the show, with Annabeth Gish playing Charlotte, the wife of an old man from a wealthy farming family. After her husband died of a sudden heart attack in Mexico, she quickly discovered that he had many unknown secrets. Ted Levine plays the role of the Chief of the El Paso Police Department, Sonya's immediate superior, a seasoned police officer who exudes a cowboy like demeanor everywhere. Thomas Wright plays Steven Linder, who works for a local women's rights organization but secretly leads a double life. Emily Rios plays Adrianna Perez, a hardworking journalist for the El Paso Times. Matthew Lillard plays journalist Daniel Frye, who loves gatherings and socializing, but this may affect his career and future. Catalina Sandino Moreno plays Ruiz's second wife, who stays at home to take care of the children and household chores while her husband is on the run.
