Plot Summary
This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Boris Akunin, the best-selling popular writer in Russia today. It is a blockbuster film that blends epic, detective, romantic and other elements, set during the Russo Turkish War of 1877-88. Van Doren is the Sherlock Holmes portrayed by Akunin. This stuttering guy has a natural sense of detective. In order to escape the heartbreak of love, he joined the Russian army. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the war, Van Dorian was taken captive. By playing a game of chess with the enemy, he won both the game and freedom, and quickly fled back to his home country. On the way, he met a woman named Wavira. She is penniless, but she wants to go to Russia to find her fianc é. At the Russian military headquarters, they found her fianc é, but at the same time, they discovered that there were many spies within the military, including this woman and her fianc é, who became mysterious and inscrutable for a moment.
