Plot Summary

Zhao Mengsheng (played by Tang Guoqiang), a photography officer in the military department, was dispatched by his mother to the company headquarters as a mentor, using his military connections, in preparation for becoming a regular employee. Zhao's arrival delayed the family visit leave of the platoon leader Liang Sanxi (played by Lv Xiaohe), causing him to stay in the company to straighten out Zhao Mengsheng's relationship with the soldiers. The artillery platoon leader Jin Kailai (played by He Wei) is straightforward and strongly opposes Zhao Mengsheng, who is a "young master of the military camp". The atmosphere of the platoon was a bit tense for a moment, both due to internal issues within the army and the impending war. Shortly after, the situation suddenly changed, and the company was preparing to participate in the counterattack against Vietnam. Zhao's mother tried to pull out her son at the last moment, but was publicly used as a negative example by the military commander.
