Plot Summary

North Shaolin stick monk Zhiming (played by Jet Li) practices kung fu every day to avenge his parents. He has a pure and intelligent nature and is highly valued by his master. On that day, a group of mischievous children "disciples" that Zhiming had accepted reported to him that the retired Prince Heso had once again come out to act as regent. Zhiming was furious upon hearing the news of his father's murderer and immediately went down the mountain to celebrate Heso's birthday, waiting for an opportunity to assassinate him. At the same time, like Zhiming, Sima Yan (played by Huang Qiuyan), a lay disciple of Putian South Shaolin who had a deep enmity with Heso, also went north to assassinate Heso.
