Description
Plot Summary
The young and promising advertising designer Lu Jiayao (played by Tony Leung Ka fai) accidentally injured someone while trying to stop bad elements from causing trouble, and was sentenced to three years in prison. In prison, he offended the gang leader due to his simple and straightforward personality, and suffered all kinds of humiliation. The old prisoner Zhong Tianzheng (played by Chow Yun fat) couldn't stand the help of righteousness, and the two became friends in need. Zhong Tianzheng originally had a intact family, but accidentally killed his wife due to his addiction to gambling. When he was imprisoned, he regretted the past and decided to walk out of the high wall and start anew. However, because he stood up for Lu Jiayao, he offended the cunning and ruthless prison warden (played by Zhang Yaoyang), and thus became embroiled in the vortex of evil forces in prison. When he was at his wit's end, he gave up the philosophy of "endure if possible" and decided to resort to violence.
