Description

Plot Summary

Xiaolong (played by Zhang Wenlong) was born into a poor family. His mother was unable to raise Xiaolong, so she sent him to a drama school to study under Yu Zhanyuan (played by Sammo Hung) and learn his skills. In school, Xiaolong met fellow senior brothers such as Sanmao (played by Zhong Jinren) and Abiao (played by Huang Jianwei), and formed a deep friendship with each other. The school rules are strict, and Sanmao, Xiaolong, and others have suffered a lot, but they still love this profession. Although Yu Zhanyuan appears to have a dark face, he genuinely cares for and loves his disciples from the bottom of his heart. By chance, Sanmao met a Cantonese opera actress named Cheng Shuixian, and the two fell in love and came together. As time passed, the popularity of Peking Opera gradually declined, and the audience became fewer and fewer. Many peers switched to the film industry and thrived. Unable to make ends meet, Yu Zhanyuan ultimately decided to close the school, causing Xiaolong and others to lose their only home that protected them. The master and apprentice bid farewell with reluctance and embarked on their own lives.
