Description
Plot Summary
During the Tokugawa shogunate period, the executioner, Bai Yidao (played by Tamura Masawa), gained the trust of the lord. However, the Yanagisawa clan led by Yanagisawa Bizen (played by Hashimoto Kagekatsu) coveted power and therefore regarded the highly skilled swordsmen of the Shuio faction as a major enemy. On the eve of the official martial arts competition, Bizen plotted to frame Bai Yidao and killed his wife Ji (played by Yuko Furukawa), causing Bai Yidao to wield his sword and kill the official who came to arrest him. Afterwards, he arranged a duel with Yanagisawa Ryodo (played by Tatsuya Nakadai), also known as the "Hidden Yanagisawa", and ultimately won, allowing him to leave Edo with his son, Daigo. From then on, Bai Yidao transformed into a bounty killer who walked alone in the martial arts world, and formed an irreconcilable hatred with his archenemy, the Liusheng clan
