Plot Summary

The first installment of the movie "Evangelion of the New Century". It is divided into two parts: the DEATH section and the REBIRTH section. The 'Death Story' is based on the content of episodes 1 to 24 of the original TV anime, and has been re edited into a concluding chapter. The content of the "New Life Chapter" continues from episode 24: After the 17th Apostle is eliminated, SEELE issues an order to NERV to have the EVA first aircraft responsible for executing the "Human Remake Plan". However, Ding Yuandu does not agree with SEELE's approach and refuses to execute it. SEELE determined that this was a betrayal and decided to completely eliminate NERV. At dawn, NERV headquarters was suddenly attacked by the Strategic Self Defense Forces, who carried out a brutal massacre of NERV personnel. In order to protect the driver, Megumi Katsuragi ordered the mentally unstable Asuka to be sent to the second aircraft and placed deep at the bottom of the lake.
