Plot Summary

In 1914, the First World War broke out. In 1917, France, Italy, and other European countries formed an alliance and were determined to resist Germany together. Many passionate young people with lofty aspirations volunteered to join this unprecedented war on the European continent, hoping to end the war through their own meager efforts and let everyone live a peaceful and tranquil life again. Thirty eight young people, including Breen (played by James Franco) who lost their family ranch, William who wants to restore their family's glory, Briggs who wants to travel across the Atlantic, and a black boxer who was expelled from the United States due to racial reasons, join the overseas combat air force for a common goal. With the assistance and leadership of French General Sanot (played by Jean Reno) and American soldier Reid Cassidy (played by Martin Henderson), each of them truly understood the meaning of fighting for honor and peace, and formed the "Lafayette Flying Squad". The cruelty and reality of war far exceed the imagination of these passionate young people. Death is approaching every day, and danger is everywhere .....
