Plot Summary
The Killing Generation "is a television series based on the 2003 Iraq War, adapted from Evan Wright's original work of the same name. This series will air on HBO in July 2008, with a runtime of seven hours and produced by David Simon, Ed Burns, Nina K. Noble, Andrea Calderwood, George Faber, and Charles Pattinson. The novel of the same name "The Generation Killed" (2004) is an autobiography written by Evan Wright, a journalist from Rolling Stone magazine, based on his personal experience. It tells the story of his experience as a journalist who went deep into the war zone and participated in the 2003 Iraq War with the United States Marine Corps First Expeditionary Force. His exposition on life in the Marine Corps was first serialized in three issues by Rolling Stone magazine in the autumn of 2003. The opening of the series, "Killer Elite," won the Best Reporting Award at the National Magazine Awards in 2004.
