Description

Plot Summary

In the 30th year of the Showa era, Fangfu City located in Yamaguchi Prefecture was a beautiful place surrounded by mountains and rivers, with fresh air. Aoki Shinko (voiced by Fukuda Mayuko), who is in the third grade of elementary school, grew up here since childhood. She loves listening to her grandfather's stories about the ancient national architecture of this small town thousands of years ago. One day, a transfer student from a big city walked into the class where Xinzi was. This person, named Shimazu Guiiko (voiced by Mizusawa Naiko), has fair skin, received a good education, and is completely different from children born and raised in Japan. Shinko became friends with the somewhat reserved Kiyoko and led her into this idyllic life full of fantasy and magic... This film is adapted from Takahashi's autobiographical novel "Maimaimaishinko (Fantasia Shinko)" and won the Best Animated Feature Award at the 14th Japan Culture and Culture Agency Media Arts Festival in 2010.
