Description
Plot Summary
This film is adapted from a real event. In 1933, the notorious pirate John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and his accomplice John Hamilton (Jason Clark) armed themselves and robbed a prison in Indiana, successfully rescuing members of the gang, including "pretty boy" Floyd (Channing Tatum), "baby face" Nielsen (Stephen Granham), and hiding in the farmhouse of corrupt police officer Martin (John Michael Bolger). Martin convinced Dillinger to hide in Chicago and seek gang protection. In a series of bank robberies, Dillinger falls in love with Chicago female employee Billie Frequet (played by Marion Cotillard). At the same time, FBI agent Mauvonne Purvis (played by Christian Bale) is promoted by his superior, Director Hoover (played by Billy Crudup), and vows to capture Dillinger in the first "war on crime" in the United States.
