Description
Plot Summary
Edgar Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in his seventies, was invited by "A Record of Crime" to share his personal memoirs. Hoover told the ghostwriter of his memoirs about his important life journey since 1919, including arresting left-wing leaders, apprehending notorious gang leaders, and solving the shocking Lindbergh kidnapping case that shocked the United States. According to Hoover's account, he defied public opinion, reorganized the Federal Bureau of Investigation, introduced high-tech investigative methods, and worked tirelessly for the peace and stability of American society. On the other hand, his private life became the part he wanted to desperately conceal. Just as Hoover looked back on his life, there were still many turbulent factors in American society. Hoover's personal assistant Clyde Tolson (played by Armie Hammer), who had been employed by Hoover for many years, also seemed to maintain an unusual relationship with him
