Plot Summary

The film is adapted from the bestselling book "Battlefield Lover" by British author Louis de Bernier, and tells the true and touching story of a little dog named Koko who travels through Australia in search of his former owner. The red dog in the film is played by a two-year-old dog named Koko Karby. This breed of dog is said to be a descendant of the Collie and is currently widely distributed in Australia. On an iron mine in northwest Australia, there is a red dog with red feet. After American youth John (played by Josh Lucas) saved it once, he made John his own master. John falls in love with the secretary on the mine (Rachael Taylor). But on the morning of the second day after their engagement, John ran into a kangaroo on his way to work, causing his motorcycle to overturn and he died on the spot. Afterwards, Red traveled throughout Australia and even took a ferry east to Japan to search for his master. After searching without success, it returned to the iron mine. In the end, Red accidentally ingested poison and before dying, he ran to his master's grave and died with him
